First Visit
Usually, this is a “get to know you and your child” visit. It is an opportunity to discuss your child’s treatment requirements. Should your child require urgent dental care, it will be provided at this visit.
Special needs
The practice caters for medically compromised children and those with intellectual or physical disabilities.
Relative Analgesia (RA) or 'Happy Gas'
The happy gas makes you child feel relaxed and happy and decreases the anxiety sometimes felt having dental treatment. It helps make the visit easy for your child and is available if needed.
General Anaesthesia (GA)
Occasionally children need their treatment done while they are asleep. This may be due to their age, the amount of treatment they require or perhaps due to physical or intellectual disability. The child is admitted as a day stay patient to the Wakefield Surgicentre and a specialist anaesthetist will administer the anaesthetic.
Recalls
It is important that your child has regular checkups. It allows us to monitor growth and development, pick up any problems early and give you advice appropriate to your child’s stage of development. If you wish your child can go on the recall list, this will be organized at the final appointment.
Payment Options
Payment at the time of the appointment is appreciated. To make this easier we offer:
